My friend was recently given a 99 cent rose from the dollar store for a birthday present from this guy who was trying to date her. Naturally she never wants to see him again. She told me this and I laughed my head off.

My cheap-*** aunt gave me 2 pairs of white socks and a Bugs Bunny tape for Christmas (like the ones you find at the 99 cent store). Seriously, what the hell? She's not a millionaire, but she's not poor either, you'd think she could get me a real present.

Maybe the guy couldn't afford anything but that for her,I believe it is the thought that counts on gift giving not the monetary value of something..sorry..
Worst gift I ever got was = nothing..at Christmas or birthday, both in the same year..due to finances of course.

I have a few:

Make-up samples from my mother-in-law for my birthday. Her boss got them as a free gift at a department store and gave them to her.

A box of chocolates from my mother-in-law that had been laying around the house for lord knows how long for Christmas.

2 large bottles of water (the kind that you put on a water cooler) from my in-laws to my husband on his birthday.

I do not find any gifts to be "Bad".I like the fact that someone thinks of me enough,to purchase me a gift.It doesnt matter the price or what it looks like, just that they thought of me.Have a good afternoon.

A rather cheap touristy gift from Italy, I think. And this was from a good friend of mine who had gone abroad.

One of my childhood friends would have his parents by me a b-day gift, then get the exact same thing for himself. Used to drive me nuts! He was using me to get himself stuff! Actually, now that I think about it, that kid was a genius.
