Are modern-day celebrities simply a replacement for ancient religions?

It seems that back in the day when people didn't have celebrities, they needed to worship Gods or spirits or whatever to be happy.

Today, people worship a few clowns on TV. People even get personally offended when somebody else says something bad about them. LOL!!

Are Humans just very week that they always need to worship something??

Some people worship celebrities because they want to be like celebrities: pretty, rich, and famous.

The truth of the matter is that celebrities are just an icon. To some people it becomes their religion, because they have nothing better to do. To others, they are just something to laugh at, gossip about, or just simply entertain themselves with. It's just how it goes, but they are just unhealthy distractions that mostly everybody is attracted to in different ways. There is simply no need for them.People think they need them because they have molded them into their live, that's all. Honestly, we'd be better off without them.

the international was a extra useful place without this entire celeb way of existence occurring. you probably did no longer have the likes of Sky and residing television and certainty shows. It replaced into all stable previous formed entainment, and persons had expertise (different than for Samantha Fox). Rehab wasn't somewhat heard of except somebody had a actual issue and there have been no modern celeb gossip magazines. And it wasn't 'fashionable' to be a single mum as those celebs look to propose the certainty which you've gotten a toddler and nonetheless proceed to celebration. those prosperous young infants somewhat are a foul occasion to as we talk's impressionable teenage women.

i believe they are there to amuse us, so if some one does it better we like them
and when we watch them again and again we get tired of seeing them
so we look for a replacement
that's it
and for the WORSHIP thing
humans need help
so GOD is the only person who can help when no one else can
and prayer is the only way u can get answered
but with a true heart and thinking that was i am wishing for isn't wrong

We don't NEED them, we just keep up with them for entertainment, not religion. Their lives are more interesting than ours or we wouldn't be on this website.

totally agreeable. and i can prove your point, walk into any middle school and into a group of girls, cheerleaders or very cheerful people preferably and say, very loudly, that justin timberlake or john mayer or someone like that is stupid or that they suck. they would pull knives or ninja stars out that you didn't even know they had and chase u down the hallway! its getting ridiculous!!
