Yes he would be much better than a lot of players already in, not that is a good argument, buy Bill James' book" What is Wrong with the Hall of Fame" and that gives very good arguments for and against a lot of players Oliva included. Oliva won 3 batting titles including one in his rookie year he was the best player on some very good Twins teams better than Killebrew and Carew he was what they now call a 5 tool player run, hit, hit for power, play defense, and throw. He was arguably the best player in the AL from 1964-1971 well this is just my opinion and I am a biased Twin fan but like I said he would probably be better than at least 20 players already in, so he would not be diluting the HOF.

I loved Tony as a player. His numbers don't warrant his selection into MLB HOF. In 3 seasons he played 10 games or less, this severely affected his stats. Maybe he can get elected by the Veterans committee.

Yes. His career was cut short by injuries but what there was was brilliant. Similar case was Dizzy Dean and he is in.
