I can only think of two other coaching legends (Joe Paterno for Penn State and Bobby Bowden for Florida State)...How many more can you think of?

Joe Paterno, Bobby Bowden are ones that come to mind. Some younger coaches making themselves into legends Pete Carroll, Mack Brown, Bob Stoops. Jim Tressle, and Lloyd Carr. For this question I just stated active coaches, coaches retired or not living Eddie Robinson, Jim Johnson, Barry Switzer, Darrell Royal, and of course Bear Bryant

Two fo the best, Bo Schembeccler and Woody Hayes. Even if you hate Ohio State you have to love Hayes' ferocious attitude, alot like Bobby Knight in a way. If he would of beat Michigan the last three years he was there, he could have killed that Clemson player and still would have been a coach. Nut there are plenty of other ones too, but those two are the best in my opinion, two fo the best rigt now are Jim Tressel (Class act too) and Pete Carrol. It is one thing to coach a team of superstars, but to take a group of nobodies (according to the rest of the nation) and win in close games and then win the National Championship, like Tressel did in '02, it is something special. Or Frank Solich taking the Ohio Bobcats to 10-3 last year. But there has been a bunch of Flash In The Pan coaches that do good one year, and sck the next is something else. And I think Mangino will be like that next year.

Vince Dooley is alive, retired and well, everyone forgets about his illustrious career. 201-77-10 record in the SEC, 6 SEC titles. For much of his career he competed against Bear Bryant. He also coached the 1980 National Champion Georgia Bulldogs.

Tom Osborne was a pretty good coach. Steve Spurrier is a hell of a coach too.

I think those are the only two coaching. Ohh and to the dude who said Woody Hayes he is DEAD.This was about ones coaching and in the least the question implies LIVING coaches.
