Seven landmasses and their associated islands are commonly reckoned as continents (in order of decreasing area) – Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia – but some of these may be consolidated. For example, North and South America are often considered a single continent (America), as are Europe and Asia (Eurasia).

So they are two continents but may be be consolidated together .

Europe is the buttocks of the Eurasian continent.

Europe is a continent only from a European historical perspective. This is the same sort of perspective from which China sees itself as the Central Kingdom and the rest of the world as the hinterlands.

If Europe is a continent, then why is Southwest Asia not also a separate continent?

Please see the Wikipedia article below.

that is a cultural, heritage ingredient, Europe and Asia are one continent, yet because the Europeans considered them separate continents contained in the previous, and thanks to the cultural divide they're considered separate continents, if any area of Eurasia must be considered a separate continent it may nicely be India because it drifted up from Africa and is on a separate plate, and in view that the Himalayas are so severe , geography isn't continually an exact technology
