It's here again, an entire evening of national televised begging hosted by an array of awful celebrities.
I'm not against charity but why are we always being guilted into giving, on the street, on the net, in the mail, on TV.
Look at it like this, I pay Tax & NI like everyone else to the gov. who is supposed to use that money to take care of it's people but the money go's on stupid thinks like Iraq, so why should i be expected to give to charity to make up the difference?
children in need also supports children in Africa who have been orphaned by war which was fought with weapons sold to them by the British.
see where I'm coming from???

The point I'm trying to make is;
Are you happy to let your taxes to be spent on politicians bonuses and illegal wars and then make up the shortfall through charity?

I agree that I hate being guilted into giving money for any cause. I'm all for donating to worthy causes and to helping those in need, but I agree that when the government expects citizens to pick up their slack it makes me not want to give at all. I really hate that I donated to the families of the 9/11 victims only to find out down the road that some families received over a million dollars and spent it on luxurious extras that I sure don't have. I hate donating money for children in need and having the money go for the "administrative expenses" of the charity. I'd rather give directly to the family in need.

Yes and no, drives me nuts that every year near the holidays every charity on earth is asking for my money, on tv, at the store etc... However I do not feel it's the governments job to give charity. Our taxes should be used for defense, road ways and public safety etc... This whole nanny state seems way to much like the medieval lord of the manor taking care of the serfs.

I can`t believe how nasty rude and spolit these horrible kids are,My kids now grown up had what we could afford, and we spoiled them with cheap days out, little picnics, a day at the pier on the rides, they Never had desigener trainers ever But we spolit them with our time as much as we could, just doing normal stuff, and they in turn have babes of their own, and they get what we can and what their parents can afford. Al of my kids have had their ups and downs, but are decent members of society, and bringing their babes the same way

Charities are necessary as they use money more efficiently than the government.
However, Children In Need is less efficient than other charities such as the NSPCC.

no i dont (see where you are coming from)...we have a civil responsibility as society and compassionate human beings....the children you speak of are innocent and have no business being tossed out there to dry just because the very people who are supposed to be taking care of them are the ones causing their lives to have so much turmoil...please have compassion and pray that one day when you have children (if you dont already) that they will not have to endure this type of neglect and neediness....and never say never as in "my kids will never suffer that way"...you dont know what the future holds and ive always been told what goes around comes around.....so if i were you id be very careful about what i send around right now

No, I don't. I hope you never have to find out what it is like to be the parent of a child in need. Although, maybe if you did, your view might be different. Not everyone leaves a charmed life such as yours.

Yes the celebrities should not endorse it. They should simply lead by example. Others would follow suit
