Here's a resource. Go check it out. For more, just type "T.S. Eliot 'the Wasteland', mythology" into your search engine and look it up, the old-fashioned way!

Don't forget Five-paragraph construction, especially on a 12-page paper!

Good luck! I love Eliot, but he's a mess to hack through--especially The Waste Land. (I opted for Prufrock on my big paper on him, which still wasn't easy, what with lines like "I should have been a pair of ragged claws/Scuttling across the floors of silent seas"...)

Well, let's see. There are a number of vague allusions to Greek mythology, a lot of which you'd want to connect with the actual myths; there's the bit with the Tarot reader, which is very fun to dissect if you're familiar with tarot symbolism; the "Game of Chess" section, which says nothing at all about chess, but sorting the scenarios in it into a chess game could certainly eke out some good symbolism; the Fire Sermon...I could probably do twelve pages on this section alone, pulling in myths and stories from all over on fire to connect in...

I highly suggest checking it out beside a copy of Frazer's The Golden Bough as well==most of the "established" myths in the poem can be found in that book.

inspect the footnotes of your reproduction of "The Waste Land". this is been awhile on the grounds that i've got study it, yet I bear in mind that he alludes to Tiresias at one element. Tiresias is a discern from Greek fantasy who has particularly an thrilling custom. i could additionally, once you're allowed to, inspect some paintings that has been finished on the mythological characters Eliot makes use of. With a splash know-how of their undertaking-loose memories, you may extract a lot from pictures. For the undertaking-loose memories, while you're no longer allowed to apply wiki, inspect Ovid's Metamorphoses. i could additionally study some Milton.
