OK OK everyone! I'm not saying I think they are the new Beatles. I have heard others saying it and am asking your opinions! Hope you don't get a hernia from laughing so much golfjunkie - or perhaps I do.

NO they are very talented but you cannot compare any group to the Beatles. Mcfly like any good band will have some influence from the Beatles The Beatles created and played many different types of music, and so therefore they influenced many bands of today. The same was said about Oasis and if you listen you can detect where they have copied or been influenced by the Beatles. The Beatles had a massive accolade paid to them last night on the UK hall of music fame. Many world class artists payed respect to them. I didn't hear any mention of Mcfly. Don't get me wrong they are very good but not that good.

I don't think they are comparable to the Beatles. The Beatles have written many songs that we now think of as classics. We are still listening to them thirty, forty years after they were first heard. How many McFlys songs will be remembered and sung in five years' time?

Silly, there will never be new Beatles...even to suggest it is sacreligious. But as I am concerned about the state of what is passing for music these days (sorry, just being honest, am an old hippie), I would be thrilled at anyone who has a sound even close to the Beatles.

Some songs sound like the Beatles like 'Five Colours In Her Hair' and other songs of theirs sound like different bands.
