I used to see this movie on late night TV in the 70s once in a while. It involved a person with a pitchfork, and I believe a raincoat. PLEASE HELP!!! Any ideas?

Motel Hell? I'll have to look that up. I swore it involved a farm house though! Hey but I guess he could have wandered over from the motel! :)

Nope much older than Motel Hell. My parents divorced in 1980 and I saw it several times before that! And it has to be older than Halloween which was made in 1978.

Home for the Holidays (1972)? or A touch of Satan (1971)
Both have pitchfork deaths, but Home for the Holidays has the murderer in a poncho, which could be what you're thinking of when you say raincoat.
