I felt miserable for 2 days.

Not overly concerned about the death of Professor Dumbledore. I know there is no end of debate about whether he actually IS dead or not ... and I think he is ... but suspect that like Fawkes, his pet phoenix, his phoenix patronus and the phoenix-shaped smoke erupting out of his coffin, he will be something of a phoenix himself and be reborn!

I think the most compelling evidence that his death is not final, is the attitude of JKR herself. She commented that writing the demise of Sirius Black upset her (obviously because he WON'T be coming back), but the death of Dumbledore seemed to hardly bother her at all.

At the end of "Half Blood Prince" I saw no reason to feel pessimistic. I think that Harry, as the hero, needs his protector out of the way so he can tackle Voldemort heroically on hs own ... but I'm sure that Dumbledore hasn't gone for good.

It presents all manner of unearthed clues that suggest that my theory could well be correct. Enjoy!

It seems that a lot of really great series are coming to an end. The 13th Lemony Snicket has come and gone and the final Harry Potter will probably be next summer. I think the best way to cheer yourself up is to look out for a new series of books to get hooked on. One that's just started, (and that my own kids are facsinated by) is "Justin Thyme". It looks like it promises to be an intriguing series. My two have read it twice already and half their class are arguing about the 'hidden' clues to what might happen in the next book in the series. You can find it on amazon.co.uk or check it out at:

I always feel a general strangeness whenever I finish a Harry Potter book. JK Rowling is so brilliant and her descriptions are so rich, when I finish the book, it's like all of a sudden I remember I'm in my living room in Minnesota and it's a bummer. I get totally engrossed in the story and the characters and forget about everything else.

The Half-Blood Prince was particularly devastating. The whole book was so emotional; every single page! I think I was out of sorts for about a week.

Terrible! I felt as if Rowlings sold out the story. None of the characters behaved consistently with the previous books, the writing was noticeably different -as if the writing was hurried- and the story line didn't work at all. Professor Dumbledore not knowing what was going on in Hogwarts? I don't think so...he always knew, even when he wasn't there. Little Malfoy up to no good and no one, especially Prof. D. notices? Wrong again! It just seemed as if someone who knew just a little of the Potter tale took over writing that one.
Total disappointment.

I cried myself to sleep for two nights but i was engrosed in the book, i got grounded so many times while i was reading it because I was reading it at midnight on school nights. JK has never yet to not suprise me, first with Harry and Ginny getting together, and then Dumbledore dieing. yea.I cried tears of joy when Harry and Ginny got together, cried of saddness when Dumbledore died, cryed of saddness when I got to Dumbledore's funeral, and cryed of saddness when Harry broke up with Ginny.

Miserable too. But also interested. Eager to know the ending of the story

I burst into tears when it happened, again at the funeral and then when I finished it completely. It was just to depressing. I finished it at 2am and barely slept at all that night. I still start crying when I reread it, so I've only managed to reread it three times.

Curious about how J.K. Rowling is going to wrap this series up. Hopefully the ending will be worth it.

>Slightly...angry that I read it so quickly. xD
>Kind of empty after losing Dumbledore...like that empty nothing-ness you feel when someone dies.
>Wondering how JKR can fit everything into one last book.
