I had the BCG when I was 12 and I still have no clue what the abbrevation means. Yes two ugly dots on my arm...wished they poked me in the a*s instead.

BCG stands for Baccilus of Calmet and Guerin. It is a vaccination against Tuberculosis (TB) developed by those two gentlemen. When it 'takes' properly it always leaves a white scar at the vaccination site, which acts as a permanent indication of a successful vaccination.

I went to a boarding school when I was 12/13 and had to receive all the usual vaccinations as a condition of entry. The last to be given was the BCG vaccine which was injected into both arms just above the elbow. I, like all my schoolmates of the time, have a large mark there on each arm.
