Little match box cars, stickers, a little flashlight, are some for boys. For a girl you could put in a chapstick, barettes for her hair, stickers. You could put in socks, never underestimate the power of candy.

fruit snacks, goldfish crackers, candy canes(if you allow them), playdough (little ones) apples, oranges. Travel games, crayons, coloring books, raindeer antlers or elf ears (from the dollor store). Once we got fancy glitter and fake snowflakes from the store and I made special reindeer finder. We sprinkled it outside right before christmas so that the reindeer could see the glitter shining on the ground and they would be attracted to it.

Anything small from the dollar store like hard books (the pages won't get torn).

One year, I made a letter from Santa for my girls. It talked about how good they have been all year and how Santa couldn't wait to stop by the house and, since we didn't have a chimmney or fireplace, how he was going to get in. In our case, a set of magic keys! :)

Hope this helps and good luck!

I would recommend some small, inexpensive toys recommended for his/her age range and some candy. Chocolate coins, candy canes, traditional stuff like that. I usually got stuff like that as a kid and loved it. I would eat the candy and play with the toys until my parents woke up and said it was okay to open the big stuff.

Check out your nearest dollar store. It's your best deal yet. On Christmas morning, your son will be happier if you let him play with the empty boxes from some of the larger presents.

our stockings were always filled with all kinds of goodies....but every year we got a jar of each of cocktail onions, olives, marischino cherries....not typically what would be on a kids wish list, but it wouldn't have been xmas if we didn't get those things in our stockings!!...i couldn't really tell ya what else was ever in our stockings, but i do remember those jars and it's really a nice memory!....i thought our family was unique in that, but my hubby got that stuff in his stocking too (plus sardines!!)
