With the advent of digital downloads, satellite radio, internet radio, etc., do you believe that albums, as an art form, are now (or very close to) extinct?

I sure hope so, I really hate paying $16 for 2 good songs and 8 garbage ones on a CD. I prefer to pay the price of the 2 good songs. And I bet the overall quality and quantity of songs will go up, since bands won't be forced to come up with 8 filler songs in order to get an album cut. I've thought this for years, glad technology is catching up.

NO. Well, maybe...
Depends what comes next. As an art form, maybe the art form will change. Into what, who knows.
Just downloading albums instead of even having the option to buy CDs or Vinyl is not something I look forward to.

I nevertheless hear to music maximum many times as an entire album, no rely if that's on my ipod, a cd in my automobile, or from my computing device. yet having suggested that, I generally hear to severe metallic and submit-rock. (I refuse to take heed to individual submit-rock songs. it would desire to be the completed album).
