In most cultures women are still generally assigned to all work around the home despite the fact they may also work outside the home. The male sphere of work is with outside chores. Males still work predominantly in some trade positions and women stil dominate teaching and nursing. However these statistics have begun to change. With the face of capitalism changing you will see a increase in small patriarchal business emerging where women and children are working in oppressive sweatshop situation.

...hello.

this is a very valueable question and i am grateful for your intelligent consideration to it.

i would like to raise a couple of items for yourself to consider and this is by no means complete...for the question itself and its human considerations are relevant most in the mind of those whom would correlate whatsoever....gender and labor. however...

there is 'traditional' relationship between the two....and bio-logically it is sensible since a woman can provide milk for baby before the advent of commercial feeding substitutions/institutions.

now in these times ... it is less (if not irrelevant) about gender.

but back to your question.

gender and labor correlate according to the service and/or production provided.

and in this era of industrial/technological priority...strength is a less a factor if we can accept that traditionally women were of less muscle mass than men...and if we accept that muscle mass is related to gender. which i believe to be true.

so in these times...gender is much less relevant. but ...

this is not commonly understood by those which hold and/or seek power and disregard human potential and possibility. which is why young ladies which may have potential with muscle mass or milking babies for their choice of labors are better informed if they move to realize these potentials with respect to hu(man)ity and the relationships thereof in a spirit of love and co-operation rather than with relative truths of "tradition" and the diminishing esteems of self or society which are product of adversariality.
