There's a fellow student at my University who has attached themself to me. I wouldn't mind, but they're really freaky. I'll look up and they're staring at me. They keep teaming up with me for projects, even when I make it clear I want to work with someone different. I've tried being nice, I've tried ignoring them, I'd try being nasty if it wouldn't make me feel guilty. It's beginning to disrupt my work. What can I do without being a b*tch?

This fellow student - are they male or female?

I really don't know what to suggest, other than maybe you need to talk to this person? Maybe they like you in some form, maybe as friends perhaps and they are too shy or dont know another way to approach you? I personally would side with you on the fact that you shouldnt be nasty to this person, not until you know the real reasons behind their behaviour.

remember, klingons have feelings too.
good luck :)

What a horrendous situation! You need to make it clear to this creep show that you don't want to be friends- try to get them friends with some equally peculiar type- start introducing them to other weirdos- then run!

Looks like you gotta be blunt here - not nasty though. Just explain that you feel crowded by them and need some space xx

focus on your studies. when you first started the question, you said a fellow student, then you go on to say "they" and "them", so i am a bit confused. from your information all i can tell you is, if you don't want to be around them, hang around someone else or claim to be a loner.
