Mission Impossible 3?
Went to see that at the flicks with the gf and we both enjoyed it. Plenty of good action and this time it's personal because he is trying to save his missus.

I watched The Life Aquatic With Steve Zizzou recently - it's absolutely brilliant and would appeal to both girls & boys.
Other recent watches that would be worth recommending:
X-Men 3
Just Like Heaven (definitely more for the girls though)
Walk The Line
Batman Begins
Good Night And Good Luck
Have a look on Amazon, Play or CD-WOW and see what's on their bestseller lists at the moment. That'll give you an idea of what other people are watching.

chick flick - Sweet Home Alabama; Kate and Leopold (Hugh Jackman was awesome in that). If you want to go old school, An Affair to Remember with Cary Grant - it's the movie that inspired Sleepless In Seattle
Guys - Invincible (if it's out for rental yet). Kill BIll 1 and 2. the Transporter movies.

40 years in the past on a Friday night i could have been doing what I were doing for concerning to the previous 5 years yet no longer in undemanding terms on Fridays, it become each and every night. i could have been assisting get the oldest 2 young ones waiting for mattress and/or could have been giving the latest toddler a bath. We shared such familiar jobs. human beings of my mother and father age have been horrified that we did that even though it become regularly occurring in that era and that i'm hoping that it continues to be so.

If you haven't watched Ice Age you've got to watch it. It doesn't meet any of your criteria but I think you'll really find it funny.
I would recommend things like fight club & all the rest but you've probably watched them all!
i'm not up on my chick flicks although i do love to watch them too, especially with girls around! I don't like watch guy movies with girls around 'cos they always wind up rating the guys & stuff.

I watched Stuck on You last night with the mrs, and we both loved it. Its got the soppy love story, and some good humour too. No real action (apart from a pretty funny fight scene) but a good one for everyone.
