Absolutely. BC pills alter hormones to prevent pregnancy, alcohol does nothing to alter hormones. The only thing advised against while taking BC is smoking, that is due to clotting risks. Antibiotics are one of the only things that could make your bc ineffective.

No matter what the medication, you should always read the entire drug description and interaction that comes with the prescription. Just because your doctor doesn't mention something doesn't mean you shouldn't do what you can to inform yourselves. Doctors typically won't take the time with a patient to discuss all the ins and outs of a drug they prescribe.

It seems that the posts on this site are accurate though. The pill is still effective with alcohol use, unless the pill is possibly thrown up due to being sick. Also, please note that there are other medications which can cause the pill to be less effective, such as antibiotics.

I have been using the pill/ring for fifteen years and have never been pregnant. Just don't forget that you should still be practicing safer sex! Condoms are not nearly as effective as the pill at preventing pregnancy, so use the pill to keep from getting pregnant and use condoms to protect your health.

Sure. I mean, don't go out there and get wasted... too much alcohol is bad for everyone, pill or no pill. But there is not a particular dangerous interaction between alcohol and the pill.

I believe it is okay to drink alcohol while on the pill. I have read that being on the pill does make you prone to getting intoxicated with fewer drinks then normal. I also know this from personal experience. It is advised that you take your pill at least two hours before you drink just in case you get sick, the pill would have enough time to work its way through your system.

Perfectly safe. There is no interaction between the pill and alcohol.

In moderation...but I would not make it an everyday thing...alcohol could possibly interact with the hormones, and either cause you to have an imbalance or cause the pills not to work properly.
Plus, when you are inebriated, you might forget to take your pill...
