If anyone has read the Alex Rider adventure series I;m a bit confused on the ending of Scorpia, the 5th book. In the end Alex is shot but it says that he feels no pain and just smiles and closes his eyes. Does this mean he died?

Usually when a fictional character closes his eyes and
"feels no pain" he has died. If you know for a fact that he was shot in a non-vital spot, then he could have just passed out.
Most likely-Alex is no longer Riding with us.

It matters where on his body he was shot at and if he's bleeding heavily if so I am afraid Alex is has died.

He died, the bullet went directly up his anus so there was no external wound that would cause pain.
