There's no scenario at ALL where neither team gets the bid?

I guess it's not really a fact, but the consensus is that it would be impossible for any two teams to rise in the BCS above the winner of the OSU-Mich game. The winner of that game will end their regular season undefeated (#1 in the polls & the computers), and therefore it would be impossible for two different teams to ever top them in the BCS standings. [It's unlikely that a team like Florida or USC would top them w/ strength of schedule, but even so the winner of OSU-Mich would be #2 in the BCS, and still play for the NC]

Short answer: The winner of Ohio St - Mich will defintely play for the title.

The Winner finishes undefeated. The BCS will have at least one undefeated team in the Championship. Come on the winner would have to be passed by Boise State and Rutgers(assuming both win out) so the winner doesn't end up as an undefeated in it. Now since Boise State ISN'T a BCS team they WON'T end up in the National Championship game. Based on that you KNOW the winner will be in. Is it POSSIABLE they will end up out of the Title game? Nope not really. The 2 Human polls will put the winner at number one. So that is 2/3rds of the vote and you can't possiably believe that the computer could still put them so low they lose number two.

Guaranteed that the winner of the game will be in the NC game, but watch out for the possibility of both of them in a rematch scenario. Since the BIG 10 does not have a Conference Championship game, the other schools could struggle with tough competition and leave the loser of the game on Sat. looking for a rematch. Regardless, the winner is in the NC!

I stay in Columbus and no one around right this is performing like OSU is a shoe-in for the BCS Championship interest. If we are great, we can pass there and do our terrific to win yet another national Championship. If we are actually not great, we can pass to the Rose Bowl steep with custom and play USC yet another college wealthy in custom. How are we delusional thinking we should be in the BCS interest? in accordance to the BCS equipment with a loss via Mizzou or WVU (and not something in this season is a assured BTW) Ohio State could be the #2 team in the country and consequently should play #a million whomever it would be. and that i'll remind you that neither Mizzou, WVU or OSU have performed out-of-convention monsters this 12 months. As for being delusional in thinking we could beat WVU, people reported an identical component in 2002 whilst the 'Canes have been going to overwhelm OSU for their 2d at as quickly as national Championship. finally i've got been to Morgantown, and that i've got faith very very sorry for you.

Fact it is the last game of the season for both teams. Ranked 1 and 2 one team is guaranteed to go to the championship game.

No there is no situation that could change this since both teams are undefeated and it is the last game of the season. Plus the usc notre damne game could not change that as the loser has no chance to make it. Leaving Florida as the only other team that could realistically be in the game.

Outside of some sort of scandal involving the winning team that would force the team to forfeit the season, there is no situation that would involve the winner of the UM/OSU game not playing in the Nat'l Championship game.

RIP Bo.

It is an assumption, since the BCS as of yet has not announced the actual participants... but if the winner of that game does NOT get in, the BCS system will lose any finals shreds of credibility it once had, and the ratings would collapse... which would lose the BCS money, and that is all they care about... so the winner is at least 99.999% likely to be picked.

There really is no doubt. It is the final game of the year. If #1 Ohio St. wins, they will stay #1. If #2 Michigan wins, they will take over as #1.

Can you offer any kind of scenario where neither Ohio St. or Michigan make it to the title game? I'd be interested.
