I went to the doctor for these bumps in my vaginal area where my hair is and she told me they were just hair bumps but they have been there about a month and arent going away. Should I get a second opinion? I don't have them anywhere else and they don't itch, burn or burst they are just slightly raised bumps that turn red once they appear.

If you shave your bikini area, you will get infected hairs and they can last a while. Do they get red, swollen and really sore?? If so, try squeezing one (it will hurt) but puss and blood will ooze out and that will help alot. I hope this helps you. If they don't go away after you try that, go to another doc, good luck!

No, sounds like razor bumps. They come from irritation to that area when that area goes through a drastic change. You may get these when you shave or wax incorrectly. If you shave never go against you hair, go in the direction your hair grows. You should know that that area is very sensitive. They have special lotions or powder for after you remove hair. Also you may want to try cream hair removal. Better yet, down remove so much hair. Keep cut close but not bare. I would give it a rest until they go away.

Certainly sounds like ingrown hairs to me. They do tend to last for a while, and if you are prone to them, new ones will keep popping up, especially if you shave/wax/etcetera. They're more common for very curly hairs, like the ones on your pubic area.

Go see another doctor if you're stressed out, but it really doesn't sound like anything to worry about.

If you are shaving, be sure to exfoliate the area daily, use a moisturizing shaving cream, and always a brand new razor blade.

I have the same problem and yes they are caused a lot of the time by ingrown hair and once you get them it is VERY hard to make them go away. I have not found anything to make them go away instead of going tanning and for some reason they go away( or make them almost disappear)

could be meliscuous.. i'm not sure if i am spelling it right.. but they arent bad but they can get bad.. you get them from having sex.. but they arent like genital warts or anything crazy like that.. and to have them removed you just get them frozen off like you would a wart on your finger or something, not painful at all.. but yes get a second opinion and when you do ask them if it could be something called meliscous. goodluck

Your doctor is right. Don't wear your jeans too tight; that contributes to this situation.
