Every mention of TomKat on the mainstream news is a lost opportunity for viewers to learn about something important. It may interest a significant number of people, but if the media did not spend so much time on it perhaps that would not be the case. It is a sad day for the world when more Americans can identify TomKat than can identify Darfur.

some are interested for the sake of celeb gossip and such but others like to be watching the wedding news because it distracts from the other crap going on in the world such as wars,poverty and etc. Newscasters can only do so many segments on the Iraq war before people begin to get annoyed by it so they try to "distract" people by showcasing things like the TomKat wedding to help ease the public

I don't think there're very many people interested in this couple. He has been so over-the-top for the past year that it's changed the public's perception of him. She is so much younger than he is and appears to be in a zombie-like trance. I wish this strange couple well. I just couldn't care less about hearing/reading/seeing anything more about them!

It only interests a few- and those are the press, who want to rush to Italy, to get photos, and whip up the frenzy even more. Tom turned alot of people off with his weird gushings, and ill will towards Brooke Shields, re postpartum depression.
