The requirements for becoming a flight attendant are not as demanding or strict as they used to be. Most airlines require that you be at least 19 years of age, weight proportionate to height and have some customer service experience i.e., hotel, restaurant. More than likely, you will attend an open call to the particular airline that is hiring, they are usually held at hotels near the airport or at the actual airport where you will be flying out of. These "open calls" begin promptly at the designated time, do not be late, as they will deny entry and dress very professionally.

I think nowadays most big airlines require that you speak at least two languages fluently. (Usually English and the language where the airline is based ie. Italian for Italian Air)
They also require that you have no visible tattoos, piercings or other body art.
The best thing to do is to go to the website of airlines that you might be interested in working for. Most of them you can even apply for an interview online.
You might have to start with the smaller airlines just to get some experience though.

I'm still wondering how I got in haha, but here we go:
Be positive, Be on-time to your interview, Whenever they call you or interview you, be HAPPY and bubbly, they want people that will be fun and vibrant on their planes...Previous experience with food-handling and customer service roles always helps, but hey if I can do it so can you! GOOD LUCK!
