I am no expert, but I am also TTC, myself. I have been doing alot of research and reading. I was recommend the book, "Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler". I suggest you buy it and read it. It is very informative.

One of the things I was going to mention to you, is the Luteal Phase length. Sometimes woman can have short Luteal Phase lengths, which can cause them to miscarry and not even know it. The luteal phase, also referred to as 'days past ovulation' or 'DPO', is the part of the cycle that starts at ovulation and ends the day before your next period. It usually lasts about 14 days and does not vary by more than a day in each person, but it can be anywhere between 10 - 16 days. The luteal phase is named after the corpus luteum (Latin: "yellow body"), a structure that grows on the surface of the ovary where a mature egg was released at ovulation. The corpus luteum produces progesterone in preparing the body for pregnancy. Your luteal phase must be at least 10 days long to support pregnancy. So if your luteal phase is not lasting long enough for your body to realize it is pregnany, it can stop the production of progresterone and cause you to miscarry. In order to determine your Luteal Phase, you should start tracking your BBT (body basal tempature) and CM (cervical mucus). The book I recommend goes into more details about this.

I track my periods, which is something all women should do, trying to conceive or not. It is very helpful and keeps you informed with what is going on with your body.

I hope this helps. I also read several of the other answers, and those could be the answer, also. My last suggestion would be to go talk to your doctor.

I hope I could help.

Good luck!

Miscarriage is due to many factors, mostly related to there being something genetically wrong with the baby or attachment to the uterus, things like that. It is actually quite common and many women have miscarriages they never know about. If the mother's womb is not properly prepared and capable of supporting a developing fetus, then the body will naturally abort. If there are genetic issues with the baby that cause it to not develop properly or pass away inside the womb, then the body will naturally abort.

Basically, women miscarry because something is wrong with the pregnancy.

There are a lot of reasons and most of the time they do not know for sure. If you miscarry more than twice, they will do a study to see if there is a structural, hormonal or other reason why you are not carrying a fetus to term.

The usual cause is attributed to the embryo or fetus being defective in some way. It is felt that this is nature's way of keeping an imperfect fetus from developing.

Miscarriages can be due to many reasons. You must remember that the child formation in a body is not like something that is happening in a machine. There is nothing being held together by bolts and nuts. There are no screws to be tightened. The whole thing is held together by your own muscles and other results of hormones and enzyme reactions.

Your physical activities contribute to this a lot. If you strain yourself. If you wear tight body wear. If you wear high heeled shoes - all have an affect on it

Your mental condition also matters a lot. If you are depressed. If you get angry often etc affects the enzymes in your body.

The food also contributes - I know unripe pineapples affect pregnancy.

I know of a lady who spent the last 6 months in bed with knees up most of the day to avoid her 3rd miscarriage - and she succeeded.

Good Luck

There are many reasons why people miscarry. Sometimes the fetus isn't developing normally, sometimes something goes wrong within the mothers body. I am not sure all of the reasons but I know that many times something isn't right with the baby.

Natures way of aborting a non-viable fetus; this is the most common reason. This applies to the singular event miscarriage.

There are other reasons, but I won't address them, because I don't know that much about them; but this generally refers to women who miscarry again and again.

Sometimes the body doesn't release the right horomones to keep the egg attached to the uterus wall. That is what happened to me. I miscarried at 5 weeks.

There are so many reasons it can happen, drugs, stress, lack of some type of vitamin in your body, a number of reasons some times there is really no explanation the embryo just doesn't do well because of maybe the egg wasn't strong enough or the sperm was weak in some cases the cervix is to weak. I hope it didn't happen to you but if it did I'm sorry.

I have been led to believe it was because of an unhealthy fetus. It would be better to miscarry that carry a dead fetus for nine months--etc, etc.. Not sure if this is fact or fiction--but it sure makes sense to me.

There are a number of reasons.

I had two miscarriages just this year & after the second, I asked the doctor what might be causing it to happen & she ran over 25 test on me (all bloodwork) & come to find out my thyroid was slightly elevated & I also didn't have enough folic acid in my system. Now I'm on Synthroid & prenatals to help. The thyroid condition didn't present itself until after the second miscarraige.
