Sure, why not? It is quite acceptable (except for religious reasons) today for two lovers to live together in a common-law situation. Many of these couples even have children before they decide to get married (if they do). Just decide beforehand who is going to be responsible for paying for what. I live with my bf. We each pay half the rent. I buy all the groceries and he pays for the internet, satellite tv, phones and electricity. We pay for our own extras like car expenses and credit card payments.

i suppose you are referring to a girlfriend...........well, in my family no, because we just don't do that. and believe me, we were forced with a terrible situation once that my son wanted his girlfriend to move in with us due to her home life, but we just couldn't. instead, we helped them elope and they lived with us after that until they could afford a place of their own.
