Honestly, I just consider the source and do not take unhelpful answers seriously at all. If anything, I feel sorry for those sad folks.

It doesn't bother me, because I have noticed a pattern concerning answers I get. I always get at least one idiot answer. I have grown to expect it and those idiot answers make me laugh.
I can tell when a person has read my question in detail. I try not to assume that my questions will not offend or be misunderstood by someone since we are all different and our values systems are as well. Age gap plays a difference in the way people answer or ask a question to. For instace, when a young girl refers to a male as a boy, she is probrably young to the point of being in junior or high school. An older women usually refers to a males as "man."
By the way, whether step parent or not, all adults need time alone. It has nothing to do with being a step-parent.
Don't let it bother you and expect to hear criticism. You need thick skin in here sometimes!

I know, some people give unfair answers. But when you ask a question on Yahoo! Answers, expect to get answers from all sides, of all different opinions. Some people will be on your side, others won't.
Sometimes, some askers will make a mistake, and they need to become aware of that mistake. Most people who answer questions are only trying to help solve the problem fairly, although there are some people who take only seconds to think about their answer, because they only want points.

I've heard a lot of ugly answers today, can't even believe people really think that way. Don't take their answers personally, they are just giving opinions and we have to accept that when we come to this forum. I think some people get a kick out of it, for shock value to get a reaction. Don't pay attention to the negative comments, learn from the comments you like.

People who aren't in a 'step parent' role don't get it...
I totally understand wanting to spend time alone with your boyfriend... Yes he has kids, but you don't, and being with him doesn't mean that every moment spent with him has to be family time... Just know that most people on Yahoo Answers think they have insight and wisdom into things they know nothing about... One of the downsides to even asking a question on here...

Some people only want to get the points so they do not read the details.

I understand what you are saying. I had the same thing happen to me on this website and another website. I hate when that happens and I hope next time you ask another question that you really need the answer to that the public doesn't do that again.

She is part of a familly now and you have to accept this even though you may be single. and you asked fo an opinion and some people will give their idea of the truth even though it may hurt.
Accept your point of veiw is not the same as everyone elses.

You can always stop dating your boyfriend if you have an issue with his kids. When it comes to other people's children and you're not married to that person, you have 2 choices: deal with it or leave. It's really that simple.

don't trip on those types. people tend to jump to conclusions especially when it involves children. what parents need to realize is that before they were parents, they were a couple. my wife and i always set aside one weekend a month for just us and what grandparent doesn't love spoiling their grandchild for a weekend? it's a win win situation. you have every right to feel the way you do. good luck!
