Okay I have a question. I have a grandmother who is 81 years old and I'm stumped on what to get her for Christmas. I could really use some ideas. If anyone can help that would great.

Get her a donation to the Heifer Organization--you can "buy" donations to chickens, ducks, cows, etc that will be taken to third world countries.

Reason: at 81 your grandmother doesn't need other things to clutter up her house. If you give her a donation, it's close to the heart and something she knows will help someone. Chances are she's preparing to move in to an assisted nursing facility soon--the more that's in her house, the more you have to clear up. (Had a grandmother just go through that process)

Other things:
1) Picture globe with your picture in it
2) A new sweater
3) A note to say that you will take her out for lunch during your Christmas break and spend the afternoon having fun with her

At 81 she's probably into comfort and easy of life. She might like
a nice quilt or a warm robe. Does she watch TV or enjoy the radio? Does she have to get up to answer the phone. You could upgrade her phones to wireless.... Or a nice family DVD...
