It's called morning sickness, honey. And it doesn't always just happen in the morning. I had it all day every day from month 3 until month 5. It sucks cause you get soo hungry but you know whatever you eat is just going to come back up! Try eating just a tiny bit at a time. A few bites and then wait a while to eat more. I found that worked sometimes for me. And saltines are a pregnant woman's best friend. Just keep reminding yourself it won't last forever. Good luck!!!

Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you're eating for two. Your baby doesn't need that much more than what you're taking in. They say that you should add about 300 extra calories to your meal. Your baby is so little compared to you so eating double would not be wise. It's also suggested to eat small, but frequent meals throughout the day so that your body doesn't always feel hungry. It's better than eating 3 huge meals a day.

Good luck and congrats!

I'm about 16 weeks pregnant, and I find that I'm hungry all the time, but usually not for big meals, I'd probably say that I'm falling into the 6 small meals a day that some of the people here have been talking about.

It's actually better for you too, it's less food for your body to digest at once, and it helps to reduce your risk of gestational diabetes later in your pregnancy. (Your pancreas doesn't have to work as hard to produce the insulin to break down the sugars in the food)

But, eat when you're hungry, just make sure you're reaching for healthy foods, such as fruits, veggies and complex carbs. They will give you the nutrients you and your baby need :)

Well I'm not pregnant and I eat 3-5 meals a day....If you are eating 3 large meals a day you might want to break them up to 4-6 smaller meals....It's not how much you eat a day, its what you are eating. You need to take care of yourself and eat healthy foods for you and your baby.

I over ate with my first child and oh boy don't I regret it. 3 meals a day a few snacks,as long as your eating healthy should be enough. I have 2 girls 16 and 13, my second pregnancy went so much better because I did the right thing second time around,I only gained 13 pounds,my first I gained 78 pounds,,,,,,,

I found as you get further along, its hard to eat 3 regular meals.. I was much more comfortable eating 5 or 6 tiny mini meals.. Like a slice of cheese on toast for breakfast, as apple for mid morning, little salad with some chicken for lunch. yogurt for mid afternoon snack.. I ate soup for supper (couldnt sleep with hard food in my stomach) and maybe drank some juice or milk or something in the evening watching tv.. (this is just an example, obviously I varied it and took vitamins from day to day)

I eat my regular 3 meals, but I also get some pretty good snack time in there too. Probably a piece of fruit in between breakfast and lunch - or som cottage cheese (something like that). and then something like a PB&J between lunch and dinner. and maybe a bowl of cereal after dinner (just a small bowl). Then you're not hungry in the middle of the night - that's the worst!!!

My doctor recommended 6 small meals throughout the day. Eat when you are hungry, and take your prenatal vitamins, and you will have more than enough nourishment for you and baby!
