Usually it takes longer than two hours. Due to counseling first, then the procedure and then wake up time. I think somewhere around four hours. No...you should not have sex for weeks after an abortion. Are you sure she had one?? Jesus...I would think right after an abortion...the last thing you would be thinking about is sex!!!!!!!!!!

I have never had an abortion nor would I ever, but I have done some reading about the procedures and it sounds like the woman has a few days of bleeding and cramping that follows the abortion. Much like a painful period. She probably could have intercourse afterwards, but why would she want to?

It takes about 2-4 hours for the enitr process of having an abotion, paperwork, blood test waiting, procedure, recovery etc, you should not have sex for 2 weeks your cervix has to close other wise there are risks of infection, and if you just had an abortion and you want to have sex right away there may be a deeper problem.

Speaking from experience, it takes a maybe 30-45 mins for the actual procedure. After that they put you in recovery for at least 2-3 hours, at least that is what happened in my case. With the medication given i couldn't even stay awake. As far as having sex right after, they tell you not to because u could pregnant right away. Was she really pregnant? This doesn't sound right to me. If you don't believe her, ask for the papers that are given to you. Also, ask her what medication as far as birth control did they recommend that she use.
