Keep in mind that your family had well made you aware before you got into dating stage that we as a family will not accept cultural differences if you bring one home. So then why would you still go ahead and date someone in another culture and fall in love? You well were aware of it before hand. THEN WHY? WHY? WHY?

I would look to myself for this answer. You have to take into consideration if this relationship is really the forever type. If it is you need to make sure that you can handle all the issues that come along with different backgrounds. Also you didn't specify why your family so disapproves of this individual? If you don't even really know you need to ask them right out. If this is a forever type relationship try your best to bring your family around. Most families that truly love each other lean to accept your choices. Don't be harsh or distant with your family if you choose your lover. You will need them in your life, and they will learn to accept when they see how you love is and how time doesn't change your feelings.

If my family did not approve of any relationship I had/have because it makes them uneasy or uncomfortable, then they aren't being a very good family.
My family would have to take a back seat.
Either they see that they are being wrong and we can all enjoy each others company or they can sit on the side lines.

Absolutely not. Granted, I keep my love life out of my parents' businesses, but nobody has a right to say you can't be with somebody because they come from a different culture. I would not allow family bigotry to continue with me.

if I found true love, family should not be a factor. Love comes first, than working on family's acceptance

I'd choose my partner, in a heartbeat. I've done it before in the past.

No one chooses what's best for me but me. I will not live my live according to anyone else's expectations. You get one shot, so make the best of it, make yourself happy.

Not a chance... between them, my parents and family have a passel of divorces. I wouldn't trust their advice.
