since the problem is color or pigment have you thought about finger nail polish, the polish comes in small doses and a wide variety off colors that may be mixed to match, and it dries to a hard finish, but remember to clean the area well with actitone or pvc pipe cleaner ,have used on tubs before.

The paint will dry fine. Though that is not the problem you'll deal with. As you've found, you cannot match the color properly, that is because the color of your tub is in a porcalin type paint. Improper paint will wear-off, flack and peel. Most large hardware and home-improvement stores equiped with plumbing fixtures will carry or be able to recomend a bussiness in your area that will sell chip repair paint esspecially for porcilen products. Note that the name brand of fixtures, kohler, american standard etc. have their own colers and shades.

Regular paint will dry , but at some point will peel off. There are some hardware stores that have a wide varaity of colors of porcelain touch-up paints. It`s your best bet.

Latex paint should come off super easy unless it's an enormous glob. Use a credit card, a plastic putty kinife, your fingernail, anything that won't scratch the porcelain.

There is a product made for the purpose, it's an epoxy porcelin chip filler, but I've only seen it in while though. Paint would not stay on very well.

There is a porcelain paint that is sold at Home Depot or Lowes, go to the paint department.. You can get it in several shades of white, you may get close but to get it exactly? hard.

I wouldn't suggest you try to paint your tub. It requiers a special epoxy paint. They do sell repair kits, but as you have found, they are in limited colors. You could call a professional in to recoat your tub, if the spot really bothers you.
