Open the windows on nice days and use a fan to blow in fresh air. Clean everything good. Make sure you don't ahve mice by using decon. Use incense and candles to give a nice apmosphere. Use a little bleach in your dishwater, and wipe down everything in the kitchen with a light solution of bleach and dish soap. Keep any pets clean, and their dish's clean, and also their sleeping area. Use a spray bottle with all purpuse cleaner, with water and light bleach and dish detergent in the bathroom, for a quick cleaning of all surfaces, use cleanser in the toilet.Hang out pretty towels. Bring in fresh cut flowers. Wash the windows, and walls if necessary. Think happy thoughts! :) Good luck. :) arum

Do your best to locate the source. A black light will make pet urine glow in low light. treat the pet urine with enzymes. the enzyme must be injected below the surface of the carpet into the padding. (worst case requires re-placement of the floor covering) After treating and letting the enzymes work, then shampoo the carpet with a enzyme shampoo. Clean every thing as best as you can with good quality cleansers. If the smell is not gone, have the entire home shock treated with ozone by a professional. Small over the counter ozone generators wont do it.

For the puppy stains, they sell stuff at the pet stores that is formulated to remove pet odors.
For the mystery smell, I don't know what to tell you besides give your entire house a thorough scrub down, including degreasing the stove area, and while you're at it, open your windows to let the house air out. If you have carpets, rent a carpet cleaner and do the carpets as well.
Without knowing what the smell is it's hard to advise further.

I agree with the very first answer about bleach, sanitatition, candles, and opening the windows. You, too, may want to consider replacing your carpeting if it has urine stains on it. No matter how many times you shampoo or spot clean your carpet it's still going to reek as the urine is probably underneath the carpet and just sitting on the floor. This probably what is making your house reek. Good Luck!

One thing I've tried once (when my fridge broke down during a 2-week vacation and all the spoilt food and newly-living creatures in the fridge left a HORRID stink all over the 2-storey house) was to leave around open bowls of black tea - I used Chinese 'tyeh guan ying' tea - with slices of lemon in them. It's a fairly effective (temporary) way to reduce general odours in a room, as long as they're out of reach from your kids and puppy.
You might want to consider a professional carpet-cleaning company. I know some of them use really good dry-cleaning and sanitising methods. Plus, once your puppy gets toilet-trained, I guess pee-soaked carpets won't be a big problem.

Take about 4 bowls and fill them with vinegar, place them in different parts of the room,This will absorb the odor, Also you can sprinkle Baking Soda on the carpet and let it stay for 10to 15 Min's and then vacuum as usual.

Spot Shot the carpets, shampoo the carpets afterwards, invest in those plug in air fresheners, keep all towels and clothes off the floor, open the windows, wash your walls and inside your cupboards, vacuum at least once a week, and dust.

I agree totally with the 1st answer.
Lemon juice also helps cut the smells ,you can also try cleaning out your fridge and washing it on the inside with warm water and vinagre.
As for the rest once you have cleaned and disinfected all, try a freshner plug in to the wall or automatic spray.
Good luck.
