yes where i work at i always go to Staples and post office and other various businesses around town and they all know me by name, even my bosses bank knows me by name. One day I was cashing a petty cash check and the new girl behind the window wanted the thumb print on the front of the check and the guy behind the window told her it was ok its "blank" and called me by name my son was n the car and was amazed.

Yeah.
It's so funny actually because one of my good restaurant acquaintances has the same name as me. And she almost has the same eye colour. So when we saw each other for the first time, we were like 'whoa, no way'. We were instant 'buddies'.
And i'm not on a first name basis with these people at a gas station but we're certainly on friendly terms.

Yes, especially the staff at the local Starbucks, I work with people with a caffeine addiction. We even have an accout set up with to pay the bill at the end of the month!

Not really, but I am definitely on a first face basis ~ there's one guy who works at the Wal-Mart down the road where I go grocery shopping in the middle of the night, he's fortysomething with longer blond hair, he's a smoker, and he's always cheerful. I don't remember his name, but I remember his face, and he remembers mine :)

hehe, yes, there are a few places that know me well. There's a convience sore that I go to everymorning when I'm dropping the kids off at school, and there's this wonderful mexican food restuarant in town, all I do is walk in and she says "Your table is open, Misty. The usual?" I love places like that.
