I believe God is all powerful....He COULD make a rock so big that he can't move it, yet wait he is all powerful, so then he would be able to move it....?

I am not questioning God....I fully believe He can do anything He wanted to. It is just an interesting conversation starter.

The question introduces a contradiction and a contradiction is fatal. In addition, it would make God out to be a liar, and that is false in itself. If God is the greatest being, there is nothing that can exceed His greatness, whether a being or an inanimate object. The question actually explores beyond the realm of reality So the answer to your question is, absolutely no. One must remember our knowledge of God is acquired through reading His word, when one does read His word, it will become apparent that a question such as this is rhetorical.

All-powerful does not mean all-able. All powerful simply means that God can do anything that it is possible to do within the bounds of the incontrovertible laws of the Universe. Math is one such law. 2+2=4. No matter what God says, no matter how powerful He is, the answer will always be 4. Math cannot be changed, no matter how much anyone tries. The really interesting question to ask about God and the rock is this: What is the rock made of? Perhaps the rock is God manifesting Himself as a rock, and therefore God could certainly move the rock, because He would simply be moving Himself. Pantheism is an interesting theory in this way.

If God is all powerful, that means that he is perfection incarnate, that there are no limits to his powers, or imagination for that matter. But to answer your question, no, he couldn't create such a rock, because the fact that his powers know NO limits means that any rock that he could create, the next one could always be bigger than the last (if he wished) and so forth with no end...to this creation of rocks, and with this in mind he would always be able to move them. The fact that he is perfect automatically implies that he is all powerfull since perfection knows no bounds.

Isn't that the age old question. lol. Yes and NO are the answers to this question. If you think Yes. Then we are saying that God is not prowerful. If you say NO, then maybe you are saying the God can't do everything. I believe that the Lord thy God would not waste his time with such foolishness, but that would be a good question to ask him. He would probably reply with something like, " Oh, I get asked this all the time!" lol

God is so powerful he can make a God(2) infinitely greater than himself that can kill God(1). God(2) does kill God(1) because it's a perfection of the universe, and God(2) is perfect independant of the cardinaliy of his being. God(2) makes God(3) who's even more infinite, destroys God(2) and forgets (it's a perfection! to God(3)) about this dimensional speck entirely.

He's GOD. He can do whatever he wants, including maling a rock so big he could not move it, if that was HIS will. I'm sure HE has other things to do with eternity.

(4) Peace,

Why is there a need to move it? It would be perfect where it is and God created it without an afterthought.
