I stood in line 2 hours to see Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when it first came out, and yes it was worth it. Typically, I avoid waiting in lines to do anything that I will be able to do later anyway. I always like to wait a few weeks after a movie comes out. That way, I can ask my friends who've already seen it how they thought about the movie. My friends' opinions are always more accurate than that of the professional movie critics. However, this was Indiana Jones we're talking about!!

I waited 3 hours to get tickets to see Independence Day when it opened. That had to be the most disappointing day of my life! That movie sucked so bad that I quit going to the theatre. Any movie can wait until it's on video. It's better without the crowd, without the prices and with the option of turning it off and watching something else when the movie sucks.

Yes I stood in the Q for 2 hours to get almost the last ticket for Sholay, when it was first released in Mumbai. It was worth it as I was in transit thru Mumbai (Bombay at that time). I was the 1st in my city, among my circle of freinds/relations to see the movie.
