my firnend and her boyfriend had unprotected sex the day after her period and she wants to know what are the chances of her getting pregnant

The chances are very, very low... but yes... it COULD happen. Every woman's cycle is different. For me, I ovulate as soon as 2-3 days after my period.
That being said, semen/sperm can live in the woman's body for (if memory serves me correctly) 48-60 hours if the "environment" is right.
Most women ovulate 8-14 days after the end of their period though.

You CAN get pregnant ANY time of the month. But it is more likley you are going to get pregnant with in 10-16 days after your period. Most women are ovulating then!

It is possible to get pregnant ANY time, even during your period. There are times (like during or right after) that it is less likely, but always possible. Use protection, use it every time. And if you or your friends are sexually active you need to see a GYN. If you don't want your parents to know you're having sex you can always say you have really bad cramps and need the Pill to regulate it, but be HONEST with the Doc. They're there to help you.

Well, every women is different. I have sex with my husband all the time, the day after my period, and nothing has happend. BUT!! like i said every women is different, and i have heard that some do get pregnant. So it is really hard to tell you.

It is possible. Some women with short cycles 23-25 days ovulate 1-5 days after your cycle. But anything is possible.
