ss army: the Waffen SS was the military arm of the SS. Originally made up of the 'nordic' elite, but during the latters years of the war made up of conscripts, many from foreign territories.

Foreign radio broadcast: usually told germans what was really going on in the world, rather than the propaganda given by Goebbels...especially news on how the war going.

woman to work: due to the shortage in manpower in the factories, the Reich resorted to using women and slave labor. The young men were not available, as they had been conscripted into the military.

hitler changed: he became more reclusive and delusional as the war continued, surrounding himself with a small entourage. The pills he was taking, were affecting his mind.

what policies and laws 1933-1939: Jews could not own property, go to schools, write books, jewish businesses were boycotted.

other "undesireable" groups: gypsies, homosexuals, intelligentsia, mentally ill

why do you think hitler wanted these groups eliminated: threat to the 'pure' nordic blood and the myth of arayan superiority.

why do you think th enon-jewish german citizens would support the violence of the Nazi government against the Jews: complicity due to fear. The 'bystanders' stood by and did nothing in Germany and elsewhere. History is full of examples of bystanders doing nothing when evil is being carried out. Why did slavery and internment of Japanese-American civilians occur in America.

The SS was a branch of the military which carried out the tough tasks. They were also responsible for following the army and cleaning up the towns (by killing those who resisted occupation). It was alos the most loyal soldiers of the army headed by Himmler.

The non jews supported the persecution of jews because the jews were held responsible for the german defeat in WWI and economic collapse that followed.

non-germans persecuted included homosexuals("after the night of the long knives")where before the largely homosexuall SA troops, under ernst roehm, were a base of early support for hitler and the nazi party;gypsies, poles and slavic peoples, communists of all nations(especially labor-unionists)!!to unite german under one ruler and one party no "extraneous influences from foreign as well as non-nazi sources could be tolerated or blythely overlooked!!it rise above the inflation of their monetary situation(in which a mere loaf of bread could cost three million deutschmarks...a wheelbarrow full of banknotes the efforts of women as well as every german citzen was considered and was not over-lookedthe men would be needed ,just as they were in america for the more serious tasks of warfare..armies,air forces and naval crews and such!!the movements of the jews was strictly and strigently impeded, restrictions being placed on travel(or escape) within german and internationally!synagogues and businesses were burned ,closed or forced into government sales and seizures by which the nazi's profitted greatly!!the jews had always being notoriously vulnerable to becoming "scapegoats for government "pogroms because of their lack of assimilation and "separateness to most cultures were they resided!!
