Hello, I would start off using blush, lipgloss and mascara.
If you have fair/medium skin tone - CARGO The Big Easy Blush or NARS Orgasm.
Lipgloss - a great one and cheap - Revlon Super Lustrous Glossy Rose.
Mascara - Covergirl Fantastic Lash in either Black or Black/Brown.
You will look pretty but not overdone. If you are young and have great skin, maybe just start with a cheap pressed powder instead of a heavy liquid foundation. I like Revlon.
Using mascara for the first few times can be scary, but practice makes perfect. With the blush, just put a little bit on the apples of your cheeks. Smile while you apply it to find the apples :)
Good Luck!

I think MAC is by far the best makeup, but no necessarily what you want if you're going for a natural look.
Your best bet would be to go to the cosmetics counter at a department store and have them show you how to apply makeup. It's always free to have someone show you makeup (as long as you're nice and buy at least some of the products they used on you). Just look at the pictures at the different counters and pick whichever one you like best, and then have the person working there help you.
Good luck!

If you are not used to applying makeup and just want to enhance your natural beauty, I would recommend you buy just a light weight foundation. I use Dior (the one in the blue tube) can't think now what it is called now) Put a small amount all over your face and especially under your eyes, it helps to just even out your skin tone. Then apply some mascara to your upper and lower lashes. Apply a light colored lipstick or lip gloss. Go for natural shades, such as browns or pastels. A bit of light blush to your cheeks and done! Remember, less is more anyway, and as you apply it more often, you will get more confident and more daring. Maybe add some eyeshadow later, when you become used to seeing yourself with makeup. Enjoy it, its fun to experiment with colors and textures.

I personally use Bare Minerals, which I love, but I have heard that Physicians Formula is good too since they make a mineral makeup as well. In my opinion, mineral is the way to go, especially for a natural look. It is the best for your skin, so you shouldn't break out or get oily or anything. I had really oily skin when I started using it, and it has helped it out a lot.

I prefer Arbonne, you cannot buy it in stores you have to go on line and find a rep in your area and buy it from them. It is a little more expensive but it is well worth it. They have a buffing powder foundation that is great, I am older and it really covers brown spots and gives my skin a healthy glow. The eyeshadow does not crease after wearing it all day and the colors are beautiful, they also have a "natural" lip plumping lip color that looks just lovely. Also, if you talk to an Arbonne rep I'm sure she will be able to give you some application tips.

It's hard to say without knowing your age and style but I think everyone can beenefit from basic products like blush, mascara and maybe lip gloss. If you're new to wearing makeup you won't want to spend too much money, so go for a good multi-purpose product, like a color stick you can use for lips and eyes and cheeks. Many big brands make this type of product. For mascara try a classic brand like Maybelline great lash (pink tube, green top)- it's cheap and works great.

For foundation I love Bare Minerals...it's just so nice on your skin and it takes away the oiliness. For blush and shadow I love Mary Kay...the shadow stays on for hours. For Lip Gloss I have recently discovered Revlon is really good. Good luck finding the one that fits right with your skin and schedule! :-)
***Adding On***
As far as applying goes....for foundation just get a little bit on your finger tips (your pointing fingers) and apply a little on your forhead and your cheek area and just spread it out till you are covered. don't apply too much...just enough to cover any imperfections (if you're young like...16 and less then you really don't need to use foundation so skip it all together)
With the shadow...well I can't explain that one...just sit infront of the mirror and experiment. Get magazines...that really helps.
With the Blush then just do it on the apples of the cheeks...be natural you don't want to look like a hooker.
Honestly, I would suggest if you don't drive then ask your mom to help you or you can go to like Belk's and get their beauty department to give you a make over and they'll teach you how to aply make up. Or you can always call a Mary Kay lady and she'll come to your house and help you out.
Good luck!!
