It was George Washington. Not John Hanson. The roll of John Hanson was more in line with the speaker of the house. A congressional position.

The articles of confederation was not working, hence why we drafted the Constitution.

And John Hanson was not the first presiding officer of congress. It was Samuel Huntington.
