I need some help with my debate topic. What are the pros and cons?

i think it is cruel and unhumane! you dont wanna be tested so why should animals.

Without it:
1. Many people could not have cures to diseases which we have now cured with the help of lab rats
2 Interest driven research opens the door for the cures of tomorow
3 Many animals (even flies) have a very simplified version of certain genes and diseases, making it very easy and effecient to work out the cause of a disease and ways to treat it.
4 Cheaper safer for humans
5 If one had cancer they would not refuse the life saving chemotherapy which was initially tested in rats?!
6 the animals are well looked after, kept clean and fed

The pros are - humans benefit and I don't care about the cons.
