I own a 1995 Mercedes E320, the heater Blower failed, and there is very little heat coming through the portholes.

There are several possible problems causing a "no heat" condition. You do not mention if you have checked the coolant level in you engine. That should be done before you go any farther. If you have serviced your car correctly there should not be a problem there. As for the heater operation itself.

The second item you should check is the fuse. If it is blown the blower and other items of the heater system will not work.

Third -- the blower is not operating as you have said. This can be caused by several items, the control switch, the resistor package, a block temperture sensor and simple wiring. You will need a Mercedes Benz repair manual for all the test points on the wiring and for proper reading on the sensor.

Fourth -- If it is a temperture controlled unit then the thermal-couple for sensing the temperture may have failed.

You will note that all of these requires reasonable knoweldge of the operation of the system.

Your best bet is to take the car to either an authorized MB dealer or a very good private shop that really knows the MB heating controls in your model of MB.

I beleive that you own a W210. Check your Cabin Air Filters. It can also be due to the blower resistor.

If you own a E320 in 124 chassis then their might be some problem with flap opening vacuum elements. And again check the filter its in the Heater case.

And besides all of the above. If the amount of Air coming out of the portholes is OK but the temperature is not right then check your electromagnetic Valve.

The "blower" moves air thru distribution ducts to your heater-core and AC evap.-core, the air then is routed to vents to dash and floorboard areas. A set of Cabin filters are in the system, along with a "Blower-fan regulator/resistor",which enables you to have numerous blower speeds. Electrical componets direct selections and operation of heating and cooling functions. The problem you describe leads me to recommend checking system fuses, cabin filters, and a electrical check of blower motor and regulation. The later should be done by a Qualified Mercedes-exp. tech. Good luck!

That car has a blower regulator that is a common problem. Your not getting volume because the motor is not working and 90% of time its the regulator. Its in the heater box and looks like a bed of nails. Take it to a shop this is a hard job to do.

The car is equipped with a cabin air filter which is often neglected and may be clogged. You said that there is still some air flow, so likely cause is blower regulator or clogged cabin air filter.

As far as how to fix it: pay a shop to do it.

It's probably clogged up.....some radiator flush MAY open it up, but it may need to be blown out. Disconnect the lines, open the heat controls, and force water in the "out" hose.

I'd try the flush first.
