First, I hope you stood up for yourself and told him not to do it ever again. Paybacks are a b----. Get him back at a later time....try letting the air out of his tires...in a couple of weeks when he doesn't expect it's you.

kind of missed ur opp bud, u should've given him a sudden "kneejerk" reaction, splashed some of the water that spilled on you back on him and asked a random question like "what was that for?"... you can get away with nastiness in the heat of the moment but to retaliate afterwards is only going to make you look petty. Something to tune of: "So and so is such a tool, he's mad at Bob cuz Bob spilled some water on him. Loser!?" There's always office prank wars...take his photo, blow it up, xerox it a couple dozen times, come in early one day and cover his office space with it. Nothing wrong with an innocent office rivalry.

If it happened once, I'd ignore it, even though he was being a jerk. If he does this type of thing often, to you or to others, I'd tell him next time it happens to quit acting like a jerk. If it continues, he really should be reported, but if you're not comfortable with that, then a little retaliation might not be out of order.

If that type of horseplay is common where you work, then ignoring it is probably your best option.

If you retaliate then you are going to be as bad as he is.
This is regarded as bullying in the workplace and is illegal.
In order for it to stop you cold speak to him and ask him to stop, sometimes reporting it is the only way to resolve the matter, you may try the same trick and you will be the one that gets caught and disciplined for it.

Either file a complaint with HR or the person's supervisor or get over it. Just about any other action would be illegal or result in your losing your job.
