what would happens if a shop gave away its goods free weekley once on a particula day?

what are the consequences that might take bcoz of this

They would have to charge much more on the other days to make up for the loss.

everybody goes there and cleans the place out on that day.
the shop still has to buy the goods. they lose all the money
they spent to buy the goods. I would not do this if i were a shop
owner. because i could not make anything to support my family.
