Propaganda, agitation among workers and peasants, publishing illegal newspapers, plotting assassination attempts against the Tsar and Tsarist officials, avoiding being arrested by the Okhrana (Tsarist secret police). If you were a middle class liberal oppositionist - and there were some - attending banquets in an effort to get the Tsar to reform the political system. That last is not fair on the middle class but they were not particularly effective.

Reds vs Whites....bolsheviks vs mensheviks. Factory workers vs farmers. All opposed the monarch regime, but had different approaches to populist power.
