I am 35 years old and my husband and I are trying to have a baby. I had my tubes tied in 1998 but they both have grown back together. My husband has had his sperm count tested and he is fine. Question is.. should I take fertility drugs. If so what kind and have they worked for you. Any help is very appreciated. I have 3 children from a previous marriage so I know I can get pregnant. Thanks...

Also, I did get pregnany in 2003 but had a miscarriage. We have been trying for 3 years! They did a dye test and both tubes are open but thin so it is possible to get preg. It is just getting frustrating! I don't want ot wind up with quadruplets from fertility drugs...lol looks like that is what I need to try though.

Has your OB checked to make sure your tubes are clear? Someone made a good point about scar tissue blocking the egg.

Your fertility rate decreases with age. I didn't start ttc until I was 34 and had a problem ovulating. My OB gave me Clomid and I conceived that month. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. It took me 9 months after that to conceive again, but I have a healthy baby girl. I am in my 5th month ttc again on Clomid and hcg injections. I have been ovulating, so we are having my husband's sperm rechecked. If everything is fine, my OB may switch me to Femara.

Discuss the option of fertility meds with your OB.

I wouldn't opt for fertility drugs first. Have fun trying for a bit...if you are using nothing to prevent and a yearn passes, then maybe consider. It's sound like with 3 kids you can be looked at and get pregnant, ROTFL

Weight loss can help your chances of pregnancy. Let me ask you something. Are you familiar with a syndrome called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)? About 10% of women have it but very few know about it. It causes excess weight, body hair, irregular periods, acne.....i.e. all the fun stuff. It's hard to lose weight when you have this and losing weight helps bring your reproductive cycles into balance. If this is you, you ought tot alk to your doctor. If not, losing weight is still a good idea because you are less likely to develop gestational diabetes and your body can better cope with a pregnancy.
