Blue-Ray is the new way. Like VHS got rid of Beta, and DVD got rid of VHS. Like Plasma is getting rid of analog TVs. Its technology.

The original xbox was technologically superior to the PS2, now however the tables have turned. The PS2 used the resources packed into it to the fullest potential while the xbox didn't do very well in this area.
The PS3 is a technical marvel, perhaps not as much as it was and to some extent is, slated to be, but a marvel none the less.
If you want a high definition gameplay experience on a Cell powered machine and a hefty lot of connectivity options with an added 'futureproofing' for new games then the PS3 is for you. But if you enjoy the simple life and play games for the 'fun' factor instead of the hardcore 'brain fry', keep that PS2.
Also, I expect the PS3 to bottom out at just below $500 if you're prepared to wait a while...how long I can't say, but within a few months I suppose.

Why pay $600 for it now even as in many years its gonna promote for much more low-priced. to boot we flow out and get the recent technologies only for something far extra more advantageous to go back alongside many years later and then what we idea replaced into so cool is yesterdays information. the game organizations make the large bucks because they recognize that they are gonna save making new consoles each and every few years and we are gonna be stupid sufficient to save figuring out to purchase them. Its a by no potential ending cycle.

I have a PS2, and I'm kepping it until the PS3 drops in price and more games are released. Good quality games are still coming out for the PS2, and you never know, there might be something wrong tih the first batch of PS3's. So my suggestion would be to wait.

I'm giddy with excitement...excuse my gloating...yes its way too much but my guy got his hands on 2 of them to sell on eBay for 1000 or more and it will save our Christmas.the PlayStation 2 rocks-I'm really into final fantasy and the new one is awesome.if you think 600 is bad check out eBay where they have gone for as much as 3000.in response to the girl MG-most new system always have flaws due to them trying to get them out on time-so make sure to get your warranty or your screwed when(and it will)break

First off, you aren't gonna get a playstation for $600 bucks right now. They are going for $2500 on ebay. Maybe in a few months you can get one for $600. I prefer the xbox over the gaystation.

i cant believe it 600.!!!!!!! the ps2 is good but now if you want a game that's coming out it will be harder if not impossible to get for the ps2 that's how they get you to buy the new systems, release a new game only for the new system!

PS3 just barely came out like what yestersday, and they are already finding so many problems with it. Sure you can do a lot more with it, but I would wait until they have run through a few more of the kinks before purchasing one.
