As far as the medicine goes, I would just let her drink a lot of juice, that usually loosens the stools. Praise her for going potty in the toilet. Make up a chart with a pic of a potty with like 5 boxes next to it. When ever she goes potty in the toilet let her put a sticker in 1 of the boxes. And when she gets all 5 boxes filled, let her pick out a prize. You can buy dollar store prizes and put them in a box so she can see what she is 'working' for, or you can take her to the park or get icecream. Whenever she doesn't use the toilet, put an 'x' thru 1 of her stickers and remind her what a big girl she will be when she goes potty and let her know when ever she gets a sticker she only needs __ more to get a prize!! That should keep her motivated and focus on the positive outcome of being a 'big' girl.

Do a decal reward. tell him if he poops in the potty he gets a sitcker and positioned on the chart. Then what number stickers you think of of that he have been given on the top of the week then he elect a prize. If he poops in his undies then positioned him in time out and tell him we don't poop in undies now you have time out. make him sparkling his own undies and then does in comparison to then consistent with threat do the pooping in the potty.

If she is still having difficult bowel movements even with what you are doing, it may not be a poddy training issue, but one that needs medical attention. I knew a boy who went to my daughters daycare. He had horrible problems and couldn't go for days, his system was all backed up and when he did go it hurt. He also had bad gas pains. I think they put him on medicine.
Also, if you have not already, it may be good to increase roughage foods like apples, grapes, celery if she will eat it. Hope this helps a bit.

Have you tried some mineral oil? It works just as well, if not better than milk of magnesia. I used to give my daughter 1 tsp mixed in her milk each day. Also give it time. She will come around, I promise. Just be patient with her.

Be patient and understanding. She's had a bad experience and now she's afraid. When she's ready, she'll use the potty again for bowel movements.
Good luck!

sometimes bananas or a bowl of warm milk with
honey nut cereal could help.
when my kids were constipated I massage their back, their feet
and slightly bang her knees when they were seated, but very soft, don't hurt her. You could also try wetting the corner of the toilet paper and tickle her anus. Sounds gross and weird, but that's how my family dealt with it.
Good luck!
