First 5 wicket haul of Kapil Dev was against England in the 1st Test of 1979 series played at Edgbaston, Birmingham from 12th to 16th July, 1979.
In that test match, Kapil bowled 48 overs, 15 Maidens and took 5 wickets conceding 146 runs in the first innings
England won that match by 83 runs.

The first five wicket haul by kapil dev was in England v India, 1979, 1st Test, Edgbaston, Birmingham. He took 5 wickets for 146 runs in the england innings.
In one day cricket he has only one five wicket haul which was against Australia in the 1983 world cup where he took 5 for 43

Pakistan. He started his career in India's away series in and against the Paks. But don't remember if he took 5 there. Probably yes.
