I am wanting to buy a sweatshirt/hoodie for someone for Christmas but do not know what size to get her and dont want to ask her b/c I dont want her to know what I am getting. She is about 5'4 and 145lbs....any suggestions? or anyone about this size can tell me what size to get?

No, no, not a Medium! I'm 5'4", 125 lbs and I wear a Large. If she is large busted, get an extra large. Tell her you bought a bigger size so that she could layer it over another shirt.

You need her measurements, there is no way of knowing for sure otherwise. If she has medium body frame, maybe size 10, but that is a really rough estimate. HTH.

Depends on wether you are buying her a men's or a women's hoodie. If it's women's hoodie she sounds like a large to me. If it's a men's probably medium.

Depends on how loose she wears her clothes. Hoodies are quite safe cause you want it to be loose. I would look at it and see if the med looks big enough to fit 'loose' if not then go with large, and then it will definately big looser.........

I'd guess a medium, but it depends on her build, not just on height and weight.

Make sure you get a gift receipt.
