Why not a Love story from the man? King has had quite the interesting career which has spanned decades. He has abused drugs and alcohol and come out the other side family and sanity (well...) intact. He nearly died from being hit by a van in the Maine woods. His recovery from that was torture in itself.

Hmmm...Come to think of it, what could be more frightening than Love? No one really knows what it is. It's like quicksand, in a way, because once you've fallen into it you really don't know what to do in that moment and soon you succumb to the effects. Mr. King has many blessings to count, for sure, so why not a love story? I have not read this one yet, but I have read everything he has written up to now, the good and the bad. I am going to read it very soon, though.

King is definitely no stranger to the subject, you know. In so many many of his books the tension of Love is there, and it is used, abused, accepted, denied, berated, dissected, rejected, contorted, blessed, cursed, warped, folded, spindled, and mutilated. Where would The Stand be without Stu and Fran? And love is so vital to Cujo, in so many different ways. What about the crazy love Carrie's mother had for her daughter?

There are so many examples, more than I really want to list here. The man is a gifted writer, and keen observer of life, even if he's not the most original storyteller in the field. It is, in fact truthful to say, "it is the tale, not he who tells it."

Have a great day.

With him it's not the tale, but the way he tells it.
