Video games have destroyed many of our young people - this is a mania and I am afraid that it is getting much worse. Thank goodness at our Wal-Mart they moved the lines out to the garden center. People are crazy. This proves and I think answers your question - video games distort reality to its participants. No one associated with video games exhibits rational thought - staying up late playing games, ignoring family to be playing, and missing good educational TV programs to play mindless unreal games. I have bought my share of video games, but I have reached the point of reckoning and reason, and will not stay in the loop. I'm getting off of this train.

I've never purchased a new system for full price. That's for suckers. I paid just a little over $100 on eBay for an XBox system a few years ago and it came with 2 dozen games. THAT is the purchase I'm most "proud" of. I'll tell anybody and everybody about that one. If I spent over 3 times the retail price for any product just because I had to "have it now"... I'd be too ashamed to admit it.

There are rather 3 diverse structures.... the 40, 60 and 80GB's..... all of them can study flash drives, and that i'm unsure what SACD is..... however the 40 is the main straightforward, because of the fact it has each and every of the valuable properties of the 80 only smaller cost and GB of direction.... however the 60 is the only one that is PS2 interest like minded and is likewise the toughest to locate.... in spite of the undeniable fact that, you may pass on line from the PS3 save and acquire the countless PS2 video games for the PS3 40 or 80 GB's..... stable success!!

I work for a game developer but have not lost sight of reality. I think the wannabees on the outside think they are invincible and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. I only think of my family and co-workers. Everyone else just makes our industry look like it caters to retards.
I played games on a PS3 development kit at work (EA Sports) over a year ago and was impressed with it. Only thing is that it did not look anything like the final release. Looked like a tan PC tower with a PSP hanging out for a controller. Graphics were cool and game play fantastic, even for beta games. I got my PS3 free from my landlord who works for Sony in Foster City, CA three days ago and am impressed! It's a great investment!

People always do stupid stuff like that. I don't see why everyone keeps rushing to get the ps3 on launch day. It's so stupid. Just wait for it. It's not gonna hurt you if you have to wait a day or two. Video games could mess up people's life. I play video games but im not going try to get it on launch day. Every store should make reservations for the ps3 and wii and launch day. That way it won't have so many people camping out trying to get it first.

I just don't understand why people can't wait. It's just a computer that plays games. No big deal. I don't buy my consoles till the prices drop. For some people, video games do mess up their perception of reality. That usually happens to people who plays them too much and is still fixated in the fantasy stage.

No. The kid probably thought he could nimbly evade the pole that was blocking his way and misjudged his ability to maneuver around it. Given that he'd been waiting overnight, so he's sleep deprived and had he not been able to get to one of the 10 chairs all that waiting would've been for naught, and that he's likely running in a crowded scene with 50 others, it doesn't surprise me.

I don't think it's hilarious at all. People are being robbed, shot and killed because they are standing in line with some form of money for a piece of metal and plastic. I think this says alot about our culture and where it has gone. Standing in line for days at a time to purchase a game for huge sums of money, why?! I don't get it. This is just adding to the hype of the holidays. One of the reasons why Christmas is not my favorite time of year, and now it's intruding on my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. We used to be able to at least get past the day before everyone lost their mind. Not anymore. Ugh! What are we becoming!

Apparently in this guy's case yes, but it's different from person to person. Some people know when to take things serious and when to play, while others don't thave these skills, such as the guy you mentioned.
